I'm a storyteller. Have been since my parents asked that I kindly get to the end of it. By learning to type fast, I became a writer. I've been (officially) published in three magazines: two articles for automotive enthusiasts and another in a monthly periodical of a broadcasting company.
I write about people and relationships. Mostly, the people are from other planets and the relationships can be influenced by multi-spacial anomolies, so it turns out to be science-fiction. Put me in the genre box if you must. I write for the reader, not for the convenience of the person stocking the bookshelves.
My independent brand is Camel Needle and Associates. With the help of Mill City Press, my debut novel Wisdom is due for release in November 2014, with the sequel Rebellion to follow in early 2015. There are a handful of other titles that are somewhere in the publishing pipeline or languishing on some slushpile at This or That Agency. Among them are I Was a Foster Kid on Mars and Mrs. Tricker is Not Herself.
I've started several novels in the past month. None brought the fire to my belly like Wisdom did from the start. Until last week. My brain cannot contain all that is within the story titled Unimaginary. Can't wait to write it so I can see what happens, you know?
I am blessed to have two amazing editors. Erin M. Hall for content and SF concepts, and Anne-Marie Markowitz for copy. I also have a great team of beta-test pre-readers. They keep me honest.
I have a professional artist, Lacretia Hardy, that also helps me with marketing and website. She's a gem.
To be an independent author and publisher is a noble thing. I'm having the time of my life.
